Experts by Experience

Our Experts by Experience (EBEs) run and support the Kernow Recovery Community at all of our locations. They offer insight and support through their lived experience and friendly faces.

Our EBEs include:

Cat

Hi my name is Cat Williams, I am 46 years old. My interests are football, tennis & snooker. I played football for many years. I also played pool to a high standard, playing for the county.
I have the job in the complex needs team due to my lived experience. I attend the KRC on a Tuesday & Wednesday in Truro & a Thursday in Falmouth.

Mike

I’m Mike Davies, I’m 64 years old and am a support worker for Complex Needs. I have lots of interests including music and art. I have written and recorded lots of music and did a lot of big firework shows around the UK from the mid Nineties to mid noughties.

I went through painful separation in 2006 and spiralled into a bad place. I have three wonderful sons, all grown up, who have always supported me through the bad times. I am now enjoying life to the full and delighted to be in a position to help other people through their own difficulties.

Davey

My name is Davey Pickering,  I am a support worker with the complex needs team. I am in recovery from drugs, alcohol and mental health. I have been employed for my lived experience. I really enjoy holiday and travelling and walks with my dog.

I currently visit Bosence on Mondays, and I am in the Pydar Recovery Community on Tuesday and Wednesday and the Falmouth drop-in on Thursday.

Heidi

Hi, my name is Heidi, I am an expert by experience for the complex needs team. I love to try/learn new things, reading, spending time with family and friends and anything holistic.

Heidi is at the Penzance KRC on Thursdays.

Dodie

I live with my husband and three adult children on the outskirts of Redruth. I enjoy walking and swimming in the sea and working on all sorts of art work- including painting and photography.
I have been in recovery for just under 2 years.
I believe that community and connection are vital to my recovery.
